sunsets

I hate when sunsets go by so quickly. I think if we took the time to watch each sunrise and each sunset we would be much happier. It's not as if it takes that long? For one, I think we'd be much more grateful as human beings and we'll learn to appreciate the beautiful things in life much more. For instance, how many times do you actually notice something beautiful. By something beautiful I mean something natural, not man made. Like the way the mountains turn pink when the sun is setting, or the way Victoria Street in Stellenbosch looks in autumn when all the leaves turn various shades of orange.
I love beautiful things. I love beautiful people. Don't get me wrong, I classify beautiful people as people that are comfortable with themselves and confident about who they are. Not necessarily someone every other teenage chick thinks is hot.
Not only do I think nature helps to make people humble, I also think it is the best healer of any kind of sickness. Studies show that if you put hospital patients in a room that receives sufficient amounts of sunlight they recover more quickly than they would have if they were stuck in a room with artificial lighting.
I don't know what I'm really trying to say, but I just had to write something about this photo. I took it one evening when we were on our way home from Stellenbosch.
